“The Kite runner” is a historical fiction written by the Khaled Hosseini and was published in the year 2003.It was one of the best selling books and this story is a mix of friendship , betrayal , guilt , redemption and the complex dynamics of family and society

 The story starts in Afghanistan, it follows the lives of two young boys, Amir and Hassan, who grow up in Kabul before the Soviet invasion and later the rise of the Taliban. The novel is narrated by Amir, who reflects on his childhood and the unforgettable events that shape his life. One of the main event is a kite-flying tournament, where Amir betrays Hassan, his loyal friend and servant. This betrayal haunts Amir throughout his life, leading him on a journey of guilt and redemption.

"The Kite Runner" explores the complexities of Afghan society, the impact of historical events such as war and political turmoil, and the enduring bonds of friendship and family. It's an impressive and thought-provoking novel that has produced readers worldwide. Later in the year 2007 a film based on this book was released.
